Todd, from MICU, was nominated by a patient's family member. The patient's son and daughter, along with a grandchild and several great grandchildren, attended the presentation, making it even more meaningful and special. The nomination read:
My grandmother was terminally ill and hospitalized for the last week of her life. Todd spoke to my grandmother and kept her comfortable. He educated us on what the hospital was doing for her. When we made the decision (with my grandmother) to focus on keeping her comfortable rather than continue treating her, Todd was very reassuring. He checked on her frequently, but kept quiet to allow us to say goodbye. He walked us through what was going to happen and gave us our privacy. He was available whenever we had a question, and was quick to bring her pain meds. It's hard to sum up on one piece of paper what impact Todd had on such a significant moment, but he was truly commendable. Thank you!!
