I suspect that the vast majority of correspondence you and your colleagues receive from lawyers is bad news, however I can assure you that this message from a lawyer is anything but negative. I am writing to commend the University of Michigan Health System for the exceptional care my father is currently receiving in the CCMU. While everyone's professionalism and kindness have been outstanding, I am writing to specifically applaud the administration and the University relative to an exceptional RN on your staff. I have spent a lot of time in a lot of hospitals over the years as a patient, visitor, and in a fund raiser capacity, but I have never encountered anyone like Ryan Twilley, RN. Ryan's level of competence, confidence, and compassion are a rare combination that is beyond extraordinary. As he meticulously attended to my father today, I had the pleasure of listening to him clearly and concisely explain every technicality and specification to the person he was training, with a degree of expertise, determination and pride that one rarely encounters. His attention to every minute detail when explaining matters to the doctors, his trainee, his successor during shift change, and to our family, was that of a humble servant. The positive impression he left on my family today will never be forgotten. As a professional who demands the highest degree of competence, clarity, and compassion from those around me, I am in awe of Ryan. While my father's outcome remains unknown, I will never forget Ryan and how he reflects on the University of Michigan.
