When you're at home nestled into your couch with a good read in hand, this is the moment HMC is most likely to call desperately looking for someone to work overtime. We default to the "ignore call" function as soon as we see a HMC number - only to occasionally be surprised with a "We are calling to let you know you are an incredible nurse and you have been NOMINATED among your peers to come and work OT beside them this evening!" voicemail.

It's one of the very few HMC overtime calls that will make you smile, shake your head, and be grateful for nurses like Pat Racioppo who will make OT sound appealing (maybe not enough to move off your couch, but definitely better than a pleading phone call from a desperate co-worker).

Pat is a pillar on 7-East, he is knowledgeable, works tirelessly for his patients, and keeps levity in the workplace. Pat brings a wealth of knowledge to each day worked. He anticipates problems, jumps at chances to help his co-workers, and is a great patient advocate. Pat continues to be an active participant in our union helping many nurses and working with Harborview to improve nursing as a profession. He is quick to make everyone around him smile with his quick wit and humor. He's the nurse you see on the schedule and you smile because you know it will be a good shift. For this and so many other reasons we are so grateful to have him as part of our 7-East team.
