Leticia Viera has been a nurse for over 20 years, dedicating her nursing career to HCA patients and their well being. Lety works for the Wound Management Center and has all the qualities of a compassionate leader. When I first met her we had a mentor-new hire relationship. She patiently taught me the skills needed to perform my job. One thing I noticed about her was the way she quickly gained patient's respect and affection. She is never in too much of a rush to have a quick chit chat with any of the patients and with that brighten their day. Patients open up to her about their joys or sorrows and Lety always finds the perfect words to say to cheer them up or share in their joy. Not only is she highly valued and appreciated by her patients but also by her peers. Everyone knows that when Lety is around there is going to be a big smile to cheer up the day.

She is sought out by her peers for advice and is never too busy to come to the rescue. She offers the Wound Care department many years of experience and in my eyes has mastered the art of kindness. Many times Lety has been the comforting shoulder for not only patients or patient's family members, but also for her peers.
