Jessie received her BSN from St. Ambrose University in 2005. She started as a nurse on 4RC in July 2005 and quickly moved into helping with the charge role and became a solid leader on the unit. In November 2010, Jessie stepped into the Assistant Nurse Manager role on 4RC and did a wonderful job leading and moving the unit forward. She became board certified in Cardiovascular Nursing in 2011 and has been a great example for others to become certified. In December 2011, Jessie moved back into a staff nurse role on 4RC and continues to be a great leader on the unit. Jessie is an exemplary nurse and many people look up to Jessie. There is not just one example that can describe how Jessie is an excellent nurse. She always has a smile on her face and really listens when I talk to her. When I've asked her to get something for me or to check on something, she does it right away. She is very knowledgeable and even had other nurses ask her advice about a problem. Jessie never acts like I'm just another patient - she makes me feel special and that I'm important.
Jessie takes the extra time to make sure that I'm comfortable, even though it may be time for her shift to be over.
In April, after a lengthy stay here, I was being released and Jessie took me to the Pharmacy to get my prescriptions so I could go home. Even after four hours, my meds were not ready, and my ride home needed to leave. Jessie went beyond the call of duty to make sure I got my medication and could go home. She is a wonderful, caring nurse!
