To be so young Laura is everything a nurse should be. Her knowledge and compassion are obvious. In addition to providing excellent care, she explains procedures to my family. She also took the time to explain the various machines, wires, tubes, and such, which are a little scary to a non-medical person. She always kept me well informed as to what was being done and why. She was quick to observe when something didn't look quite right and acted upon it immediately. She obviously has found her calling in life.

Our whole ICU experience was exceptional. My husband came into the unit as a critical care patient. The nurses were swift, caring and shared information with me, his spouse, as was allowed. As he progressed it was good to see their demeanor change. They were always serious, focused and doing their job, but when the opportunity provided itself they also allowed their humor and wit to surface. Something the family likes to see as that's a small sign that things are improving.
One nurse, in particular, stood above the rest and that was Laura. She was his night nurse and provided excellent care. She spent time watching, assessing, then taking whatever actions were necessary. The ICU is filled with all types of machines and monitors. She explained the functions of each and always told me what she was going to do and why along with asking if I understood and if that was okay. Although it was a scary situation, she always made me feel at ease. Thank you, Laura.
