I was admitted to the ER, but I was a bit nervous and wondering if my symptoms really warranted a visit. Melanie put my mind at rest and set about directing my care. Through each procedure and test she kept a positive attitude that kept my fears at bay. Every question I had was answered, my pain was monitored and controlled, and advice was given to my husband as to how to manage the long wait (he hates hospitals). A visit to the ER is a bit scary. Being a good clinician is only part of the equation. A nurse that can be effective at her job and show empathy and concern is gem. What I appreciated most of all is the consistent stream of information which let me know what the process was and where we were going every step of the way; it's that constant updating that lets you know that you haven't been forgotten. Melanie certainly made my visit as comfortable as possible, and I truly thank her for that.
