My dad was admitted to the ICU and when Brian showed up, he went out of his way to make sure my dad and his family knew about his care. My dad has dementia and is scared most of the time, but Brian took his time explaining to him what he was doing so that he would feel safe. He also did the same for us. Every day, I would catch him explaining things to him before starting the process, making sure he was careful with his very arthritic body and encouraging him to take his medicine. Unfortunately, my dad spends a lot of time in the hospital, but this was the first time he let my mom get some rest. She felt safe leaving him because she knew Brian would take care of him. She has never left him so this was such a comforting moment for my mother as well. That comfort, care, and respect are greatly appreciated by my dad and his family.
