Heather has always gone above and beyond to provide excellent care to our patients. This is one example. It was aq busy day on New Beginnings. Heather was not feeling well but as usual she arrived ready to work. The staff members were anxious about the scheduled c-section for this day. The patient had been with us the previous year when she suffered an unexpected fetal demise. The patient was anxious as well.

While helping prepare the patient for surgery, Heather bonded with this patient and soon realized she would be going to the c-section not because she had to, as another nurse was assigned to this patient, but because this patient requested she attend. Heather stayed by this patient's side through delivery and until surgery was finished and the patient was taken to the recovery room. This patient's anxiety was relieved by Heather's presence and support. As she held her newborn for the first time she stated,"Oh Heather, she is so warm". This as compared to holding her baby who had passed the year before.
