Earlier this year, I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and then I almost died.
Elizabeth, who is new to the unit, quickly recognized how critical my situation was becoming and trusting her nursing intuition, alerted the appropriate staff to come to my aid. The L&D Staff, along with my doctors worked many hours to control my bleed, which eventually led to an emergency hysterectomy and IC admission.
Throughout my ordeal, I remember Elizabeth holding my hand, comforting me, talking me through things. She models what nursing is all about and I would like to recognize her critical thinking and compassionate care!
She even came to visit me on the family unit, which meant a lot.
