It was my goal to have a birth free of intervention, therefore upon arrival at the hospital, I presented the nurse team with my intended birth plan. Angela was careful to read and remember my desires. When my labor seemed to stall out and become exhausting, Angela continued to support my wishes by explaining options and providing alternatives. Each time she entered the room she had a compassionate and encouraging smile on her face. I really felt a genuine sense of kindness from her and was so appreciative to have someone who was real and understanding by my side during labor and delivery. Beyond the excellent care, Angela provided, her personality was such that my husband and I both felt like she was a long time friend. She made the sterile environment of a hospital feel like the comforting environment of a home, just by being kind. After such a great experience with Angela on the day of delivery, I was delighted to see her again the following day. She made it a point to stop in my room and see how I was doing. That, in and of itself, seemed exceptional. Then when she informed me that she had requested to be assigned to me again, I was truly grateful.
