Medd was waiting for me to arrive and greeted me with a warm smile and the bed turned down. He introduced himself and ensured my comfort and safety. He explained how to operate all the equipment in my room and asked if I had any questions. He then asked if I was in pain and addressed it. After reviewing my options, he offered to get me something to eat, because I had missed the evening meal. We then talked about my scheduled meds and his plan to care for me during his shift. He was warm and friendly and interested in my version of how I ended up in the ER.
Medd kept the room quiet, checked on me throughout the night and was respectful of my privacy. My call light was answered immediately, and I never felt like I was a burden. Before leaving at 7:00 am he came in and introduced me to my day nurse who would be caring for me on the next shift. He said goodbye and wished me well and shook my hand. From the time I got to my room until I was discharged, I felt safe and cared for by a nurse I had complete trust in. My husband was able to go home and get rest also because he also felt I was in good hands. Thank you, Medd, for your care, compassion, and professionalism.
