My uncle presented to the St. Joseph's Hospital emergency room with severe shortness of breath. He is a cancer patient with only one lung and was in distress. Jody was his nurse throughout the evening, into the night, and up until the point that he was transferred out to another hospital. Jody was so responsive to both my uncle's needs and anxieties, as well as the needs and concerns of the family. She provided exceptional care. She helped by explaining things in a way that my uncle could understand. Her expertise with the breathing treatments and blood draws was phenomenal. After we realized that we were going to be transferred, Jody made sure that we had all the information we needed to make an easy transfer. She provided us with great directions, gave us the name of the nurse that would be accepting my uncle on and made sure that everything was as smooth as it could be. While we were in Jody's care, it felt like a family member was taking care of my uncle. It felt like Jody cared as much about his condition and his comfort as we did. We could not have had a better nurse. She was great!
