Caroline was assigned to a patient with a bad wound on his leg. She was very concerned about the patient and voiced her concerns to the doctor. When her concerns were not addressed to her satisfaction, she spoke up and was persistent until a specialist came in to evaluate the patient and decided to bring the patient to the OR. The specialist commended Caroline for her persistence and willingness to speak up for the patient. Caroline is a fairly new nurse and acted as an advocate for her patient. She lives up to the Always Safe philosophy by asking questions, requesting a change and going up the chain of command.
