Ren is a great asset to UMC. She not only works hard to keep the surgery group up to date on the current evidence based practice, but this nomination is for what she did in her spare time to help a delivery person get a product delivered.
A delivery guy came by the 2040 bldg with a package from KCI addressed to the patient for BCU out-pt without our address. She accompanied him over to BCU out-pt and of course, due to the time of day, the window was closed. She opened the door, and set the box by the front desk and signed the delivery receipt with the notation that the delivery went to the wrong location—and that's why nobody could sign for the delivery.
We have been waiting for the delivery of this machine, which was important for the patient's treatment and recovery. The machine may have never made it to the clinic or even worse, it could have gotten lost. The patient or UMC could have been charged for the lost machine if it was just dropped off.
Ren is a great team member, she strives to help her team practice safely and efficiently. I would be proud to have her take care of me or my family.
Ren is a great educator. She helps to support the WOCN team by teaching the Gown, Glove, and Scrub class, so they are able to assist the surgeons in the OR. I value her knowledge and support she provides to UMC.
