Matt is awesome. He has treated my 92-year-old mother like a precious stone. And she is. He is always funny and kind, all the time. And my mother enjoys him. Even better, the care he gave is priceless. Our family cannot thank you enough. Happy Thanksgiving and keep making patients smile!

Matt Keys has been here when I needed him and he has always been happy, cheerful, and willing to answer any concerns I've had, stabilize me when I get mixed up, and help if there was anything I needed, wanted, etc. Matt made sure it was taken care of. Meeting and working with my son when he arrived here from New Mexico and the arrival has been smooth and he's been helpful. Many many thanks to such a thorough, helpful, caring nurse.

Matthew took the time to listen to what my mother was saying and took action. He heard desperation and despondency in her heart and took action. I knew my mom was not a suicide risk in the normal sense, but Matt could hear her cry for help. Thank you, Matt, for taking the time to hear my mom's cry for help. She was and could still be a danger to herself. Not only did he hear her, but he continued to step in to help the nurses assigned to my mom. Even after she threatened him and said really hurtful things to and about him. He even took the time every day to make certain that I was OK, even after we left the floor. Thank you!

My husband was a patient admitted through the ER as he was believed to have had a TIA. Turns out it was a reaction to the flu shot the day before. From the beginning, Matt put us at ease and exhibited compassion. He provided a wealth of information that calmed our fears and prepared us for the future. He is smart and cheerful; such a joy in a tense situation. Matt also encouraged other staff as he interacted with them. He was a "dream nurse" and should be encouraged by commendation to continue to thrive in his service and mentor other nurses. He is quality, excellence, and a great representative of Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.
