Jessica Peters, RN has been taking care of a young Hispanic man for the past 2 days and today is his 21st birthday. Jessica went out of her way to notify other ICU staff to prepare to sing in Spanish "Happy Birthday". She went to the store the morning before her shift and bought him a cake, decorations, balloons, and party hats! She decorated his room earlier in the shift and then organized for several ICU and 2Neuro staff to wear the party hats and sing to the patient. He was BEAMING and so happy!!
Thanks to awesome nurses like Jessica - patients are celebrated and feel some joy in these moments of pain and suffering. What an awesome nurse!
