Sheri Montgomery has been a member of the Bridgton Hospital team for over 5 years, and has recently taken an interest in furthering her education in wound therapy and rehab services. Her peers have characterized her as "thorough and detail oriented," and "someone who is enthusiastic and dedicated to her patients." An example of her patients being her priority is as follows:

Recently we had two patients who had joined the Swing Bed Program and while receiving the therapy of this program, they are required to wear their own clothing. However, these two patients had no clothes and did not have the means to get some clothes from home in order to participate in dressing skills and other aspects of our therapy services. Sheri noticed that they had been wearing our hospital gowns and when she realized this fact, she took the time to speak to each of these patients to find out what style of clothing they would wear. Then Sheri, on her own time, took her daughter on an outing, and went to the Goodwill Store and purchased clothing for each of these patients. In fact, she was able to find a t-shirt for one of the patients that had a favorite race car driver on it. Sheri took the clothes home, laundered them, and gave them to these patients. The patients were then able to meet the requirements of the program.

Not only were they very appreciative patients, Sheri helped them feel a little closer to home, while sharing a wonderful lesson for her daughter. Sheri, we are happy to have you become our newest DAISY Honoree!
