J'nell works as a bedside nurse on our Med/Surg Trauma unit, 4D. Working with trauma patients, 4D nurses are called to provide both expert care for medical needs and emotional support for patients and their families as they cope with unexpected illness. Occasionally, the nature of our patients' circumstances causes them or their families to exhibit challenging behaviors. J'nell has a way of staying calm in these situations. She approaches patients in a manner that makes them feel like they are the most important person in that moment. She exhibits compassion and empathy for patients and their families in every interaction.

Clinically, J'nell exhibits expert nursing care, both at the bedside and in hospital-wide initiatives. She is a critical thinker who engages other members of the care team in order to provide quality care for her patients. She also is part of the pressure ulcer prevention group and serves as a skin care resource for other nurses on her unit.

Truly, J'nell more than exemplifies the DAISY Award, she is the award to her patients, patients' families and coworkers every day.
