Elizabeth Steigerwald, RN, BSN, has been a dedicated Emergency Department RN at St. Joseph's Hospital for 27 years. During this time, she has been a mentor, leader, and friend to many in our ED. Her kind, gentle and compassionate bedside manner shines. She has an amazing wealth of knowledge and is always willing to help anyone in need. Just as the letter to the DAISY committee from her co-worker demonstrated her passion to care for people, it was an excellent description of how one person can help a team pull together.

On this occasion it was a perfect storm, a storm that happens so often in EDs everywhere. It starts with a gentle rain, storms like crazy, and then the rainbow appears as our team pulls together. Even in any storm, Beth always has a smile and shines. Beth is an amazing nurse, co-worker and friend to many here.
