Heather works tireless hours in the Cath Lab, on call everyday 24/7 and she provides OUTSTANDING Care & compassion to her patients and families always with a positive attitude. She has developed several policies to improve patient outcome to include: Positioning with Z-F105, TED Hoses on cases that are lengthy, x-ray monitoring.

I have a brand new appreciation for nurses - they save lives as much as the docs do. I want to let you know just how amazed I was at the level of care, professionalism and empathy nurse have. Our son was born at UNMC but had problems and was transferred to Children's hospital.

These nurses (Heather & Cathy) came into Children's at 3 am to save our son's life the day he was born. I had never met them until my son's heart cath last month. It is SO OBVIOUS how much these women love their jobs! They were ear to ear smiles when they greeted us before my son's cath procedure, and they retold their story of the night he was born. They took care of our son in his most critical moments. After the cath was completed last month, they came out to the waiting room and talked with us. They truly cared about getting to know us. They were professional, knowledgeable, and just fun people. I want to let you know just how amazed I was at their level of care, professionalism and empathy. Instead of looking serious and concerned, they were always smiling and excited. They made me feel like everything was going to be okay.

I can only imagine just how many other families have been touched by the extraordinary care from all of the nurses at Children's especially these nurses. Even though we are just one of many families they help, these nurses made us feel like we were the first and only.
