The experience that my husband and I had in L&D in Lorrie's care was quite simply better than we could have even imagined. As first time parents, we had no idea what to expect of our caregivers or even of ourselves. It was clear from the moment she walked into the room that she was expertly qualified, passionate, energetic and felt like an instant friend for the upcoming endeavor. She was unwavering in her confidence, which became contagious as I felt my own confidence growing. The mission was truly vibrant and alive in that delivery room because she was there. As an OSF employee myself, it was inspiring to see someone at work who seemed to be fulfilling a calling to its full potential. Now that my son is a healthy five week old, I appreciate even more the precious miracle that happens when a baby enters the world. We will remember the day we became parents with gratitude and love. Lorrie will always be a part of that memory and there is just no way it could have been the same without her. The entire staff in that department was excellent, but Lorrie was extraordinary.
