My mother was admitted to the CPCU unit on July 3rd, 2013 for a CVA. Marcie took care of my mother most of the nights she was in the hospital. I was very impressed with how great the care my mother received from Marcie. She is kind, compassionate, extremely knowledgeable and very understanding. My mother was not an easy patient to deal with but Marcie handled the situation in a very professional manner and was truly a patient advocate. She made sure my mom received the best possible care and worked very closely with the doctors and our family to ensure this. She explained things to my mother and the rest of my family in a way that they could understand, which was very comforting. My mother was truly appreciative of the care she received and realized she was not an easy patient to care for. Having worked with Marcie in SNS, I was relieved that she was assigned to care for my mom. I knew I could count on Marcie to call me with any issues or concerns that arose. Since Marcie is cross-trained in SNS, she came down one morning after her shift and covered me so I could meet with the Hospitalist and discuss treatment options. Out of the kindness of her heart, Marcie covered me for about an hour and then had to go back up to CPCU to finish her charting from the night shift. I truly appreciate everything she did for my mother and how accommodating she was to the rest of my family. She truly deserves to be recognized for the amazing care she provides to her patients.

I want to thank you so much for the care I was given at the Hays Medical Center. I know I was not the only patient you were caring for and that is why I appreciated you so much by still meeting needs I thought I had. What a blessing to have a caring person meet all of the challenges that I probably cannot even imagine. I saw you as the person that had been on the "front lines" for a number of years and yet had some fun (saw that right away!), and I love to be around people with a good sense of humor. You are a credit to your profession.
