John had a very pleasant and respectful humble demeanor. He was very personable, communicated changes from doctors as he got them and seemed very caring towards my mother. He was the first nurse to come back after medications were given to see if she had a change after her medication. He was very much on top of things. His nurse assistant was assigned to take the blood sugar. But as soon as the food came, he came in to take mom's blood sugar himself; so mom didn't have to wait to eat in case she needed insulin. John was very patient with answering questions, and his diligence made Mom feel safe.

When I look at John, I see a person that is kind, compassionate, dedicated and shows great empathy. John is the type of person that has your back, willing to always help his co-workers. Many times when I am around the nursing station and someone needs help, I always hear John say, "Let's go, I'll help," or "I got it," or "don't worry about it, I am on it." He always seems to make time to help others on top of his own assignment. You hardly ever hear John say, "No," to anyone, but if he's busy, he will tell you, "I'll help you when I am done."
He represents our unit in such a positive way, just like the DAISY Nomination states; he is very pleasant and has a respectful humble demeanor. He communicates well, he was patient and his diligence made the patient feel safe.
So John, on behalf of your family here at 6C, we appreciate everything you do for our patients and for the team. Thank you!
Congratulations on receiving the DAISY Award!
