I wanted to inform you of a situation where Krysta went above and beyond and saved a life. Yesterday, she had a patient who was being discharged and her husband/boyfriend was here to pick her up. This man started to complain about not feeling well and was feeling nauseous and was having chest pain. Krysta took this man's vitals and they were stable. This man was persistent that he was alright and was just going to take the patient home. Krysta was persistent back and convinced him to go to the ER. She physically wheeled this man herself to the ER. While waiting in the triage line, the man became diaphoretic and started throwing up and looked worse than before. Krysta told the triage nurse that this man needed to be assessed immediately. Krysta checked his vitals once again and they took him back immediately and got him on the EKG table. A short while after returning to the floor, Krysta received a phone call from the ER triage nurse, thanking her for bringing this patient right to the ER. This man was having an active STEMI and was rushed right to the cath lab.
