I had the pleasure of waking up after surgery as I was transferred to my room on 6 West and finding myself under the care of Jennifer. She was the nurse assigned to me on the day of my surgery.
From the moment we met, she was a positive and professional care provider. Her smile, energy and enthusiasm were full of hope. Her appearance, communication, and the sharing of her skills and knowledge lead the way for my recovery. She was attentive, organized, and efficient. She willingly spent time listening and responding to questions and concerns. She did an excellent job sharing her knowledge and providing me with information as needed.
As a patient, I felt concerned about the unknown, overwhelmed by the diagnosis of cancer and vulnerable. The care provided by Jennifer made me feel supported, and surrounded by empathy, compassion, and competence. This contributed to my recovery and made all the difference in my experience.
I will always be grateful for the care I received from Jennifer and for her healing touch and compassion she shared with me when I was her patient.
