My husband has had a lot of great nurses and individuals taking care of him but we both feel like we need to recognize Alyssa Muller. She went above and beyond in taking the best care of him. She made his days in the ICU much easier. Being in there that long was difficult for both of us but when I went home, I felt much better knowing Alyssa was with him.
When my husband was on the ventilator, Alyssa was always so reassuring and answered all my questions. If she didn't know she was quick to find out the answer from whomever. When three of the grand kids came to visit, she looked at my husband and asked if they'd ever seen him with a mustache. They said, "no" so she shaved him, so he'd look normal to them.
Alyssa went out of her way to make sure he was always comfortable. She gave him pep talks. Even after leaving to go to another unit she has come to see him. In our eyes she is one special lady and has played a huge part in my husband's ongoing recovery.
We feel like the ICU staff has been our saving grace, always willing to do anything to make us both comfortable.
Our special hero is Alyssa. There isn't enough thanks for saving my husband's life.
