Mary was so wonderful to both me and my constant companion (my husband). For J, who has painful bone cancer, she found him a comfortable reclining chair. She actually brought it in herself and set it up for him, (with pillows and warm blankets to boot!) For me, she was thoughtful, attentive and concerned. She was always prompt when I rang for help and always came back to the room for follow-ups at the exact time she scheduled and told me she would. She was a calming influence and gave me very positive thoughts. She kept me updated and explained both what had happened and what was scheduled to happen next. She was so comforting! My husband was associate Dean at UMKC medical school and easily recognized a person doing a quality job in this profession. He said she was outstanding. She relaxed me and brought smiled and much-needed laughter to my day. She lifted my spirits and hopes and that is really a major part of the healing process. She should certainly be recognized for the outstanding care she provides. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
