I came here to have a pretty big and scary surgery. Especially for me. You see I am a single man, fifty-three years of age. My mother, father, and brother have all since passed away. I have no family or friends to speak of so this whole thing has been very very scary for me. When I met Tasha she was starting her shift and I was crying and at wit's end and was giving up on everything because I was in so much pain and in mental duress. Right away she went out of her way to make sure I knew she was here to take care of me and address my needs. She had a lot of other patients, but she went out of her way to make me feel as I was the only one she had. And she did address my needs and within a couple of days had my pain and my mood in a better place. Over those few days we talked a lot and got to know one another and I was lucky enough to find out what an absolutely great person she was here and at home. I've never met her husband or her dog, but I feel as though I know them both. Just her smile alone is infectious and there is nothing I could do to repay her for what she has done for me. I don't know how I would have done it without her smile, kind words, and just a human touch and someone telling me they were there for me and that it was going to get better (and thanks to her, it did).
Tasha changed my whole outlook. She is hands down the most positive, honest, beautiful person I have met in many of years and she deserves to be recognized for it. She truly is the most positive upbeat person I have ever met and God bless her for being in such a hard field to be in. I know she has made a difference in my life and I will never forget her.
I know she is a great role model to all nurses. And I hope others will follow her example. Thank you for your time and thank you, Tasha, for making a difference in my life.
