My husband entered the hospital through the emergency room. He was given many tests and placed in the CCU. During our stressful stay in CCU, we had a fabulous nurse that I think deserves more than what this award can bring. Nurse Hayley is your best of the best. Her compassion and care for our family were above and beyond what I could have ever expected. She provided constant communication with me and my family, carefully explaining each step of his care. She took the extra time to be present and to help me understand when I had questions on a test.
She is an excellent example of how important the nurse is to their patients. My husband and I are active volunteer members of the GSAM auxiliary, and I have never realized how important the relationship between nurses and the patient's family is. Hayley will always be remembered by our family as our "Angel". I really wanted to take her with us when my husband was transferred out to Manor Care. She is an outstanding example for her coworkers and certainly deserves this award and recognition.
