Staff nurse Carol Barnes, RN-6A was floated to 3C last week. During her hourly rounding she would check on this particular patient who could not sleep. The patient was awake all night every time she went into the room. Carol said, "why are you always awake and not sleeping?" The patient told Carol she was just dreaming about a good Krispy Kreme donut, what a good taste, and that it would be so good! So, Carol came back to the hospital on her day off to bring the patient a box of Krispy Kreme donuts. It made Carol's day and it most certainly made the patient's day. What a nice, thoughtful gesture.
