...Kelly's dedication is demonstrated through an email I received from her nursing supervisor, about a situation that occurred one weekend:
"I wish to commend Kelly's work for her patient who needed to have an MRI with contrast through her power Mediport. Kelly's efforts required a great deal of time and persistence to get this procedure completed in a timely manner for the patient. Although there were two separate obstacles to getting this procedure completed, Kelly pursued resolutions during a very busy day. The patient's family was extremely grateful for her efforts. Kelly put her patients first and is to be commended for her commitment to this goal."
A few days later I received a phone call from one of the patient's family members, describing in detail how Kelly made them feel completely comfortable and confident with the care of the patient, and how thankful they were that she was working that day.
Kelly has impeccable follow-through and always keeps patient safety and quality at the forefront of her practice. Kelly is a great mentor and teacher for newer staff on the unit, and helps new nurses feel comfortable in their roles. She collaborates with the multidisciplinary team in order to accomplish goals for promoting quality care for her patients. As one of her colleagues very appropriately states, "Kelly is a role model nurse. She has vast knowledge and is always a resource for the nurses on the unit. I feel very lucky to have her as my co-worker and truly appreciate her teamwork mentality. Kelly always makes the day run more smoothly. Kelly's willingness to help others is continuously at the forefront of her mind."
