One may think it is unrealistic to say that somebody always goes above and beyond for their patients. However, Aprill Exley always goes above and beyond for her patients! Aprill takes a holistic approach to caring for her patients, incorporating music, laughter, and old-fashioned nursing interventions to promote healing and wellness. I have seen Aprill go to any lengths to bring joy to her patients, to the extent of breaking out her big red clown nose for her grumpiest customers.
Aprill often seeks out the advice of family members so she can play the favorite music of her intubated and sedated patients. I recently witnessed her search for music in the native language of her non-English speaking patient, so he could enjoy it with his lunch. She has even taken it upon herself to go feed and water her patient's dog to take the stress and worry off of the patient. She truly exemplifies our core value of Respectful Compassion by bringing comfort to our patients during the most critical times of their lives. Aprill has an impact on every life she touches, and we are so proud to work alongside her!
