As an employee of Bayfront Health Port Charlotte, I was expecting to receive good nursing care, but what I actually received went well beyond "good". All of my nurses were caring and compassionate, but one stands out: Carol Buchalski. Not only did she provide excellent nursing care, but her sincere concern shined through on how she delivered that care. Thankfully, she made the time to truly listen to me when I was talking about something troubling me which had contributed to my hospitalization. Not only did she listen, but she prayed. That one act of compassion and empathy helped me more than any medical intervention. I was blessed to have Carol as my nurse. She exemplifies all that is good in a nurse, she knows that a patient's well-being is not only dependent on providing quality medical care to the body but also in taking compassionate care of the patient's mind, soul and heart.
