I am currently a student in the Accelerated Nursing Program at Marian University. During our final semester, we are asked to complete 135 hours of clinical time in a unit. Our instructors were having a difficult time finding nurses for us to shadow during our clinical time this semester. I asked Danielle because I'd previously worked with her while I was doing a volunteer internship at St. Vincent, and I thought she was an awesome nurse to work with again! When I asked Danielle if I could work with her this semester, she happily obliged!
I was with Danielle twice a week for six weeks in order to complete the hours I needed for the semester. Those were some of the best weeks I've had since being in the nursing program. Danielle is an awesome nurse! She knows how to speak to and work with the physicians. Her co-workers love her because she is always there to lend a hand. She is a wonderful patient advocate. She really cares for her patient's well-being. She takes the time to talk to family members about the status of their loved one and she is very knowledgeable about nursing.
I appreciate Danielle because she didn't have to volunteer her time for me and I have learned so much from her over a short amount of time! I am hoping that once I complete the program at Marian, I can be half the nurse that she is! Thank you, Danielle!
