Amy Joe is always so friendly and compassionate with her patients. In the last month, she had a patient who was admitted for severe back pain and fever. The woman had such severe pain & scoliosis that she couldn't lay flat for the MRI. A lot of people had written her off due to her history of drug abuse, but Amy Joe advocated for her patient and got an order for a PCA. She also took the time to go to MRI with the patient and stayed with her, talking to her so they were able to complete the MRI. They found a large spinal abscess and the patient was transferred to U of M for emergency surgery. If it weren't for Amy Joe's compassion and ability to look past the patient's history, the patient may have never received the care and pain control she clearly needed. I am so proud to work with Amy Joe!
