Recently one of Sarah's assigned patients would, unfortunately, be in the hospital on their birthday. On her way in for her shift, she purchased some birthday balloons to hopefully brighten this patient's day. I spoke with the patient and their spouse at which time they conveyed their gratitude for this Sarah's thoughtfulness. They stated that she was a gem and had truly made a difference in making what was an unbearable situation more bearable. She did not have to extend her care for this patient to the level that she did, but her kind spirit and compassion for the people in her care interjected. By providing this simple act of kindness she was able to make a lasting impact on this family.

There are so many more instances where Sarah has gone above and beyond what is required in her profession. She does her best daily to provide the patient/family centered care that is the foundation for patient satisfaction and excellence in healthcare.

Sarah is truly an extraordinary RN who exemplifies professional excellence and compassion that extends beyond what is commonplace. She is an asset to 9 Main and the Medical Center of Central Georgia.
