Jim has a genuine desire to support and mentor peers and maintains laser-sharp focus in providing patients with exceptional care. These characteristics truly categorize Jim Gibson in a class of his own.
Jim is well known throughout UWMC for many reasons, not the least of which is his quick wit. In an environment that is too often grim and stressful, Jim offers a balanced and professional levity that frequently brightens the grey for patients and peers alike. To say Jim brings his A-game to work each day is no joke. Jim shows up with a flexible and "can do" attitude that exemplifies the very best of nursing and the Resource Team.
As a nurse with a wealth of clinical experience, Jim is routinely sought out for mentorship by his peers which speaks not only to his knowledge base but his approachability and likability. Jim travels throughout UWMC in so very many capacities it can be hard to nail down which role he is fulfilling on any given shift. Jim floats throughout critical care as an ICU RN, runs throughout the house as a STAT RN, balances, and coordinates patient throughput as a Patient Flow Supervisor...all he needs now is a cape!
Superheroes like Jim aren't found very often, but you know when you've found one because they seem to carry the weight of the world not only with strength and character but equally with grace and compassion - and that he does!
