Haley takes not only her job as RN seriously, but also her life as an RN! She embodies the spirit of nursing in all that she does. Though I have more years of experience than Haley, I aspire to be like her. Haley is an excellent nurse and this is demonstrated not only through her exceptional nursing skills and critical thinking, but also her genuine compassion for people. Haley often prays with patients and their loved ones.
Once, as Haley was giving discharge instructions to a patient, she noted that the patient was unable to pick up prescriptions that day. Haley went to the pharmacy to pick up the prescriptions for the patient.
Haley always conveys a positive attitude and has an excellent attendance record. She always offers a helping hand to her co-workers. Haley is seen as a leader on her unit and she will be the first to volunteer for any project or team. She is our Shared Governance leader and is currently working on a great project that will provide a charging station for the patients, family and visitors on our unit. If there is anything going on that that will help our patient and family centered care or improve the outcomes for our patients, you will find Haley at the center of it! She is one of the most selfless people I know.
Haley spent several months in the country of Jordan as a volunteer working with tuberculosis patients. Haley not only thinks about serving her North patients, her community here, but also has a volunteer spirit for world health. She has plans to spend an extended amount of time back in Jordan serving these TB patients. Her volunteer heart, great clinical expertise, focus on PFCC and patient outcomes, leads her to be a true DAISY Nurse.
