I have been here at Saint Joe's for many years and have met and worked with a lot of nurses. Don't get me wrong, I love all the nurses on our unit, but Olivia is simply amazing. I don't even know if I express it in a way to have the impact it should. How is she able to handle the workplace challenges (short nurses, floats with no CF experience, taking patients on top of being charge) and continues to make every patient a top priority whether it's "her patient" or not? She is smart, supportive, kind, knowledgeable, and the best team player I have ever worked with. Every call light or staff assist she is there to see how she can help. Positive attitude and a smile no matter the shift. Even after she clocks out and is tired, I'm sure, she is always there to answer questions or help out through email, call, or text. My job is a piece of cake when she is around. As I said, we have great nurses on this floor, but this floor is at its best when Olivia is here. I know she doesn't get the recognition she deserves and probably because she is hidden on the night shift, but she is a phenomenal nurse and a big part of why I love working here!
***
Olivia is a DAISY Nurse for always making me two packs of mac and cheese with 2 ketchups and fork. Olivia has done a lot for me as a patient, and I'm really thankful for all she has done, even though I never let her know that.
