Words cannot describe the passion Brittany puts into her job. She has a way of talking to families, patients, peers, and builds great relationships with all of them. She had a patient one time who desperately wanted a Publix sub. The patient's wife was home and was going to bring him a sub, but then his nephew was in a car accident and his wife was unavailable to bring him food. Brittany finished out her 12-hour shift, called the patient's wife to ask what he usually orders and went to Publix to get him that sub he was craving. She came back up to work (off the clock) to deliver the patient his food and he was so grateful.
She has stayed late and come in early to help her unit as well as others. She will answer her cell phone at 2 am to answer questions about CRRT. I have seen her have tough conversations with family members and always be able to comfort them. She is so smart and compassionate, I can't even name all of the wonderful things she does on a daily basis. She is respected by the physicians because she is so smart and wants to continue to learn. She even steps away from her management and bedside duties to assist me in teaching CRRT classes to new hires as well as current team members. I can count on Brittany and I would definitely let her take care of me or any of my family members. She is a not only a wonderful nurse but a great person. I truly love working with Brittany and she always strives for excellence and is a great team member for BayCare.
