We are nominating Lori Carney, ARNP for a Daisy Award for the care she provided to our daughter for seven years in the Pediatric Developmental Clinic.

Our daughter passed in February after another hospitalization with pneumonia. She had been admitted many times and Lori was always there checking on her and us, her family, between her patient appointments, before she left for the day and always by phone or text. She would even stop in to see us on a Saturday to make sure we were okay.

We stayed with our daughter 24 hrs on the different wards and Lori kept us provided with bags of fruit, water and protein bars and prayer shawls that had been made for her. We couldn't have wished for a better person to take care of us and so appreciated her warmth and caring. Lori was fond of our daughter and we all felt the same about Lori.

We never had to wait for an appointment, I would call in the morning and we were seen within an hour or two. I can't say how important that was as things could happen very quickly given our daughter's health problems.
