I would like to commend Nico for his extraordinary care of a patient. The patient was an extremely challenging patient and he demonstrated compassion, patience and professionalism that left me humbled. It is a joy to get to work with people like Nico who reminds me why I chose the field of medicine. I remember Nico when he started working as new grad. Nico was very polite, soft spoken and excited to get started on his new role as an RN. And today he still demonstrates the same behaviors. It is who he is. He is gentle, kind and intelligent and compassionate nurse. We are lucky to have him as one of our nurses.

Nico left such a great impression on me and I can only hope that if I ever needed a nurse, he will be the one. Nico is the nurse with the biggest heart, compassion, understanding and the kindest voice. Always, helpful and patient even with the most difficult person. I am sure if you asked him, he would have told you he doesn't deserve this award but that the kind of person Nico is.
