Miriam consistently goes above and beyond for her patients and their families, and advocates for their needs and wishes. Recently she was caring for a patient whose physician was adamant that the patient be discharged to Hospice, but it became evident when she spoke with the family that they still had many questions about treatment options for the patient's multiple conditions.

Although the patient and family did not request her to, Miriam spent hours of her day getting the necessary information together from all of the consultants to share with the patient, to make sure that he was making a truly informed decision.

Often, healthcare providers can forget the importance of communication and coordinator of care- but not Miriam.
