Karen represents, through her unspoken actions, the caring and compassion that every patient would want in a nurse. She demonstrates her seasoned nursing skills in the patients she encounters from pediatrics through adults. She always volunteers to be the nurse for a child who comes in sick and scared of whatever procedure needs to be done. Many times we hear her voice singing to our pediatric patients "this little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine", calming their fears and allowing the provider to perform the exam. She has truly found a bond with many of our patients and they know her by name when they arrive for care. She demonstrates the mission of St. Joseph Medical Center in her nursing care of patients.
