Danielle is an amazing caregiver that deserves to be recognized for not only one interaction with patients but all interactions. She is one of the most amazing caregivers I have ever encountered. She is supportive to patients and staff.

One example of Danielle's higher level of care and compassion came to a patient that was intubated for an acute asthma exacerbation. I watched Danielle interact with this patient giving her undivided attention. Danielle attended to her every need and treated her like she was the only person in the world. Danielle took the time to find out about this patient's career and her life outside of the hospital. While the patient was intubated and couldn't talk, Danielle took the time to let her write her story. By giving this patient the time she deserved, Danielle provided better care for the patient and built a very trusting relationship. The patient even commented about how Danielle was "different" from the other nurses.

I have watched Danielle help families navigate through tough end of life decisions in the most compassionate caring manner. Danielle should receive the DAISY Award not for the care that she provides to one patient, but the cumulative care she provides to all patients.
