... We referred to her as Tracy Blue Eyes. I'd like to mention some of her attributes that I feel put her a step above.
- Knowledge- Tracy knew my wife's medical needs and applied her nursing knowledge and experience to meet her needs.
- Attention to Detail- I was there in the room several times when Tracy would be ending her shift and making the rounds with the next shift nurse. She was very detailed and specific when discussing R's chart and any changes to R's present condition. She took no shortcuts and communicated very clearly what the previous twelve hours consisted of.
-Caring and Kindness- You could tell she cared. You could tell she enjoyed doing her job and doing her job well. She was very kind and gentle in her touch and handling of R, and always had positive thoughts to share while all the time having a smile on her face.
- Professional confidence- Tracy exudes confidence. She knows her trade and applies herself exceptionally well. I was there when my wife had an emergency return to the hospital and was taken from ER to the PPCU. We got to know the staff pretty well. Who was there waiting to prep R once they transported her to PPCU?....Tracy!! I got to experience her skills first hand. Obviously, she was aware of R's conditions from the previous stay, but she went right to to work, calm and systematic, with a confidence in her skills that show immensely. Although it was an unfortunate return to the hospital, I knew R was in good hands and that she would be OK.
I can't say enough about Tracy and what an impact she made on my wife, me, and my daughters. It's amazing, she is somewhat tiny in physical stature, but exceptionally strong, walks very tall, and carries a huge heart. Tracy is a big difference maker and I am very confident that she will continue in her path to excellence throughout her nursing career. We were very impressed and feel she is very deserving of the DAISY Award.
