Trisha had a homeless patient who had not has access to a shower or clean clothes in an unknown amount of time. He arrived to the ER in a very soiled state and unfortunately had a very obvious odor. Trisha treated him with such compassion and respect. She arranged for him to take a shower and ensured he had fresh clothes to put on. When he got off the stretcher, dried fecal matter fell off everywhere but Trisha kept smiling and went into the shower room to ensure the patient's safety and comfort.
Many people had to step away and take breaks because the odor was stronger than even ER nurses are used to but Trisha gave this patient her best. She is such an example to her teammates of going above and beyond and treating her patients as one of our own.
