I chose to come to Wilkes Medical Center when I gave birth. I was really really nervous because I was prescribed medication that would cause my newborn to have a withdrawal issue or NAS. Everyone did great, but one nurse really stood out. You could tell that Erica absolutely LOVED her job. She even gave my newborn an outfit and said that she has done that for all of her little babies here! This was a really hard time for me and she literally let me cry on her shoulder, gave me a hug and comforted me. She loved to watch him for a couple of hours for me to get some rest, and that was greatly appreciated! She is a DAISY Nurse for hard work, dedication, and the love she has for these babies. I was so thankful that she wasn't judgmental and helped me through this. I absolutely loved her.
