My mother was flown to Sequoia Hospital to await heart surgery. As she was on Plavix, the goal was to keep her stable for three days, so that Plavix would be out of her system. The waiting was torturous and my mother continued to have chest pain episodes multiple times a day.
All of the staff and nurses were exceptional and attentive. I am nominating Shannon because her care extended beyond just her patient but to the family too.
She made an outstanding effort to comfort and educate each of us. She made an extra effort to know us as individuals and incorporated that knowledge throughout the days to educate us through humor and understanding. She stopped in even when not her assignment and made sure we all were prepared, taken care of, and understood each step of the way.
There is a field of daisies here, and one exceptional bloom.

Working in a very busy, stressful environment, she has so much patience with her patients, very sweet, always smiling. You can feel the trust and confidence of her hard work that shows that she is there for the care of the patient and has excellent communication skills. She always shows that she loves to be in the medical field. We need more people like her in this world. Excellent job!
